ABOUT MY PRACTICE

We all have times in our lives when we feel lost, confused or stuck either personally or professionally. This is a natural part of our engagement in our lives. Our movement through these times is part of our overall growing and developing. Often we can successfully negotiate these difficult phases ourselves, but sometimes we may decide that we need some help. It is this kind of help, facilitation and support that I aim to provide, in a confidential, sensitive and respectful setting.

I am a UKCP Registered Gestalt Psychotherapist. I work in private practice with individuals and couples. I also see clients on behalf of employee assistance programmes, offer supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists, and mentoring for other professionals.

I believe it is crucially important to create a therapy setting which is supportive, understanding and honest. I have 20 years' experience of helping people recover from stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, abuse and the effects of physical and psychological trauma.

I have also worked extensively with people experiencing persistent conflicts and negative behaviour patterns who seek creative directions for their lives, as well as those going through major life transitions, such as bereavement, retirement, divorce, redundancy etc.

Having worked for many years in a GP Surgery, I have experience of short-term, focussed work, crisis counselling and Post Traumatic Stress issues. I am also available to work medium and long-term where appropriate.

If you need to see someone urgently, I may be able to offer an appointment at short notice or refer you to a colleague in the area.
